Karen Kay Gibson, 55, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, January 19th, 2010 at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born June 29, 1954, in Waynesburg, PA a daughter of the late Anna Marie Kmetz and Delmar Gibson of Masontown.
In addition to her father she is survived by Kimberly Gibson of Morgantown; her step mother, Bernice M. Gibson of Masontown; one sister, Emma Jean Nixon of Morgantown; three brothers, Delmar Gibson Jr. and wife Karen of Virginia Beach, VA., Kevin L. Gibson and companion Sheila Hayes of Fairmont, Patrick J. Gibson and companion Ruth M. Myers of Masontown; step sister, Karen Soccorsi Centofanti and husband Arthur of Masontown; step brother, Micheal Kmetz and wife Mary of PA; two nephews, four nieces, several cousins, aunts and uncles, and her best friend, Margaret Emerson of Masontown.
In addition to her mother she is preceded in death by her grandparents Emma and Paul Gibson.
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home on Thursday January 21, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2010 at the funeral home with the Rev. Ronald Funk officiating. Interment will follow at Masontown Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mapleshire Nursing Center and her nurse Jason at Monongalia General Hospital for the wonderful care given to Karen.
