The purpose of this information is to familiarize families with the benefits of planning ahead for funeral arrangements.
You have probably already made pre-arrangements in several areas of your life, such as automobile, home owner's, and life insurance.
A funeral is inevitable. It is held for the living, dedicated to the memory of the deceased. It brings together friends and loved ones who share their loss. It allows others to show their concern and affords an opportunity for closure. This reunion of friends and relatives helps give strength and comfort at a time of grief.
Not only does the pre-arranged funeral remove the burden of planning from your children or relatives, but it is generally easier for you to remember facts associeated with yourself: time and place of birth, social security number, father's name and mother's maiden name, education, religion, military service, community service, and other lifetime achievements.
The right way to make funeral arrangements is with your family and loved ones at a time when it can be done orderly and sensibly. This allows things to be done and to be discussed will all involved under normal, every day circumstances, rather than under stress and grief.
The items listed below determine of cost of a funeral:
The casket price is usually determined by four items:
The price of the vault is based on whether the vault is gasketed or non-gasketed. This price is also determined by the outside shell: concrete, steel, copper, stainless steel, and whether or not it is lined with some other material. Many concrete vaults have vinyl, copper, stainless steel, asphalt, and even marble liners.
Pre-planning your funeral is complemented by a pre-financing program. It is to your advantage to establish an irrevocable Funeral Trust that freezes the price today for the funeral that could happen well into the future. The trust is set up in your name and in the amount needed to cover the merchandise you have chosen. Only you have access to the account until the time of need. At the time of need, the funeral home has access to the account.
